Every House, Senate and governor's race on the Nov 3, 2026 ballot, from each state's official results. Each section opens with the balance of power by who leads in the official count: Democratic leads in blue, Republican leads in red, and in gray the races too close to tell (within 0.5 points) or with no official count yet. This page does not call races.
Where the numbers come from. Each state's own election office: its results site or results files, read as published, or for a few states (marked "captured by hand" in the list at the top) read page by page from the state's results pages. States with no official source yet show "no official count yet" and are left out of every total; they are listed at the top.
Leads, not calls. This page doesn't call races. Each race shows who leads in the official count and by how much. A race whose top two are within 0.5 points is too close to tell and counts for neither side. The seat totals count clear leads only. A race will say certified once its state certifies the result; none have yet.
Counted. Each state's own measure of how much is counted, usually precincts reporting. Official sites publish no estimate of the vote still to come, and in states that count mail ballots for days (California, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and others) every precinct can report while many ballots remain, so those races say "count still in progress".
Leading to flip marks a race whose official leader belongs to a different party than the one holding the seat: for the House, the 2024 winner in the same district; for the Senate and governors, the party that won the seat last time. New lines marks House districts redrawn since 2024, which have no fair "holder" to compare with.
The comparison bars. Every bar is the Democratic share minus the Republican share of all votes cast. The 2026 bar is the state's official count. The 2024 presidential results by state are the FEC's official 2024 results. The 2024 presidential results by House district are The Downballot's calculations, on the 2026 lines ("Downballot"); a district counts as having the same lines as in 2024 when The Downballot's 2024-lines and 2026-lines figures for it match vote for vote. The 2024 House results and New Hampshire's and Vermont's 2024 governor's races are the MIT Election Data and Science Lab's returns, compiled from the states' official results. The 2020 and 2022 Senate and the 2022 governor's results come from each race's Wikipedia vote table, checked against the statewide totals.
